Above – A British Made Parachute Qualification Badge worn by Bill
PFC. William T. ‘Bill’ Miller – Easy Company, 506th PIR, was KIA 20/9/44 at Nuenen, Holland.
Below – Bill pictured at home, he met my aunt Norma Loveday in Swindon – they became close and planned had to marry. So he would have become my Uncle but it never came to pass.

Not very much is known about Bill Miller, he was one of a number of Miller’s in the 506th – it is thought he was a replacement to the unit after Normandy. However as my aunt had his Combat Infantry Badge prior to the Holland jump he must have dropped in Normandy with another unit?
Some people have said that he was an original Toccoa trooper others were not so sure?
Any help, information or memories about Bill would be very welcome to our family…….
Bill pictured in Texas with his Dad and brother?

Correction
The following piece of this image was taken at Fort Benning – Bill Miller was thought to be 3rd from the left centre row, however this person I now feel has been identified as Charles ‘Chuck’ Grant and not Bill?

This is a cloth 101st Airborne Division ‘Eagle Patch’ given by Bill to my aunt sometime prior to the Holland Jump. It was given to me in 1978 at the age of 14 after asking about Bill, it is a treasured family possession…………

Bill’s Combat Infantryman’s Badge (CIB), this was given to Norma Jean Loveday. My aunt continued to correspond with Bill’s mother up until 1948, after his death she posted it to his family in America.
This is what the CIB looked like
