The 118 mile march, Toccoa to Atlanta
On the 1st December 1942 the 2nd Battalion ( D, E & F Companies), together with the H.Q. Battalion of the 506th commenced an epic and gruelling march of 118 miles. This took the men across country from Toccoa to Atlanta.

The honour of leading the parade through Atlanta was given to 3rd Platoon, of Easy Company who had completed the march to a man.
